Pennies From Heaven

For Faith Build by the youth at St. Mary's in support of Habitat for Humanity York Region - Faith Build 2004.

[A snapshot of the money received]

Have you ever wondered what you could buy with a penny? It doesn't seem like much. But we have a plan to put those pennies to work. What we are going to try to do is to get everybody at church to bring in at least one jar of pennies by Thanksgiving. So look in your drawers and pockets for all of those long lost pennies. Mark your calendars to remind yourself bring in the pennies. Start saving because that one jar of pennies will help families in need. (We do accept nickels, dimes, quarters, etc.!)

Please pick a jar up in the Narthex and return it when it is full!

Can you

  • Donate some more jars?
  • Hand out some jars to friends or colleagues?
  • Encourage another church to get involved?
  • Like counting pennies?

If you can give us a hand, please let us know at youth@saintmaryschurch.ca.

On Thanksgiving Sunday, we presented the money counted and rolled to date. Our little red wagon was over flowing, Praise the Lord!
We are at $640 and counting! Our penny drive is going to continue until Easter 2004

Here are some pictures of the pennies presented at Thanksgiving and the Youth Group Rolling pennies at our Thanksgiving Lock-In
